Coursework: Pre-production planning

1) Music video treatment

Obaida is going to break into the house where rajan will be getting ready and coming down the stairs and putting on his shoes displaying the Nike logo on his shoes. Then Rajan is going to hear a sound coming from inside the living room. He is then going to travel at a fast paced speed to where he finds and gets attacked by the robber(Obaida) but then manages to dodge the attack and scare the robber away. This will all take place at a house location. After this piece of narrative it will lead onto a performance based act. This would be at several locations including a industrial site and abandoned areas.

2) Mise-en-scene planning

Plan everything that will appear in front of the camera in your music video - and this is vital when it comes to music video and music genre.

Remember CLAMPS: Costume, Lighting, Actors (cast, placement, movement, expression), Make-up, Props, Setting.

Costume
-My artist will wear casual street wear. The reason for this is because the majority of sidhu moose walas videos have street wear in them.  These costumes show to audiences that the urban conventions. This is important to showcase to audiences because all the target market would be older teens.

Lighting

-Majority part of my music video would be in daylight, inside. However in some parts of the music video it will be shot outside. When shooting outside I will be using streetlights to my advantage. Inside I will shut the  curtains to make it low key lighting. This is because it will bring focus to the character that is singing.

Actors/performers
-Obaida, Obaida would be involved within the narrative. The audience would know that they are not a good character because of the weapon that would be inside his hands and the angles that would convey him as an intimidating character.

Props
-The props required would be a prop ak47. This would only be used inside. Using a prop would help the create the narrative of a violent music video.

Setting

One specific location is my house. This would create a personal connection towards the audience.
Another location is an industrial location.

3) Shot list

In this music video I will use a variety of shots this would alter to close up shots to long shots.
Majority of my shots will be medium long shots. This is because a medium long shot can portray  a narrative and also create definitions that perhaps other shots might not be able to do so clearly.

4) Shooting schedule
I'm going to film majority of it this week. This allows me to have enough time to edit and get help where I need. I will also film shots next week after I have edited to see if any shots are missing and if any more shots could make it look better.
